What is Foldward, and how does it relate to Ciarna Peak?
Foldward is the debut puzzle-adventure title from Ciarna Peak. You play as a cartographer who can fold space, shrinking distances between rooms to solve intricate puzzles and restore a forgotten city to full bloom. The game blends spatial manipulation with environmental storytelling.
How does the folding mechanic work?
By using a special compass, you can select two points in the environment and fold the distance between them. This lets you bridge gaps, connect objects, and create new paths. Each room’s geometry becomes a tool—experiment with different folds to uncover hidden routes and mechanisms.
How many rooms are there to explore?
The game features over 60 uniquely designed rooms spread across five districts of the city. Each district has its own theme, from the rusted clockwork quarter to the overgrown garden at the city’s heart. As you restore more rooms, new areas unlock and the city begins to flourish.
Is there a story mode or is it purely puzzle-based?
Foldward has a rich narrative woven through environmental clues, letters, and visual memories. While the core gameplay is puzzle-solving, your progress pieces together the story of the city’s fall and the architect who sealed its fate. There are no text-heavy cutscenes—everything is shown through the world itself.
Can I play Foldward on mobile devices?
Foldward is currently available on PC (Steam) and Nintendo Switch. We are evaluating mobile ports, but the spatial folding controls are designed for precise input and a larger screen. Stay tuned for future announcements.
Is there a demo or trial version?
Yes! A free demo covering the first district (12 rooms) is available on Steam. The demo saves your progress and carries over to the full game. No time limit—take as long as you need to master the folding mechanic.
